Philosophy:

Constituency is both Asia-Pacific and the World At-Large.

USACC is composed of business entities in the Asia-Pacific and the world at-large. Most chambers of commerce represent the areas in which they are located and their orientation is to improve business and economic development in their locations, whether it is the city, state or nation. Their international outlook and programs are thus focused in that context. USACC's constituency, on the other hand, is both the Asia-Pacific region and the world at-large united as a single global economy.

Scope of USACC's Mission:

Designed with a Global Outlook.

The community USACC serves is the global village with one global economy. No one country or business can insulate itself from the vicissitudes of the global economy. Reduced to its fundamentals, all business entities in spite of being separated by political boundaries share a common objective: to be viable and profitable operating in the global market, unfettered by artificial and parochial barriers.

Serving the Common Cause.

USACC is dedicated to build and discern consensus among its members in both the Asia-Pacific region and the world at-large on how to improve and enhance the economic conditions on both sides of the Pacific for the benefit of all concerned. Once developed, USACC will implement a program that may include initiatives to affect legislative and regulatory changes, as well as business practices.

China Agenda.

An example of USACC's initiatives will concern China. With the ascension of China to the WTO, China needs to write new regulations and amend the current regulations in many economic sectors to comply with WTO requirements. Depending on how these actions are taken, they could impact on business for good or bad for companies in China, as well as outside companies wishing to do business in China. It is the USACC's intent to develop a consensus for an initiative to be taken to affect such changes, if appropriate.

"Building Bridges"

In addition to affecting operating environment, USACC is also dedicated to building bridges to the Asia-Pacific region. Programs and initiatives will be undertaken to develop business for its members. To start with, USACC has been the Host or co-Host in the Asiatech conference series, including the forthcoming Asiatech III to be held in Houston, Texas in 2009 [www.asiatech3.com].

This exciting event was preceded by the successful Asiatech II conference held in the Municipality of Tianjin, China, September 13-16, 2002, where attendance was exceeded by more than 60,000 participants and 200 exhibitors.
